Frequently Asked Questions

What is the Wealth Income Compass?
The Wealth Income Compass maps your total wealth and all income streams to calculate your Financial Independence score, passive income coverage ratio and how many years away you are from FI — acting as a north-star for your financial journey.
What is Passive Income Coverage?
Passive Income Coverage is the percentage of your monthly expenses covered by passive income (rental, dividends, interest, business). At 100%, your passive income fully covers all expenses — the definition of financial independence.
What is the FI corpus multiple (25x rule)?
The 25x rule says you need a corpus equal to 25 times your annual expenses to be financially independent. This allows a 4% safe annual withdrawal that lasts indefinitely, backed by decades of market research.
Should I include my home in Net Worth?
Yes, your primary residence has market value and should be included in assets. The home loan principal is included in liabilities, so the net contribution to your Net Worth is the equity you hold (market value minus outstanding loan).
